A two-part theatrical performance following CHARLOTTE through situations in which she is ignored, patronised or talked over. The work uses humour to explore gendered everyday behaviour before CHARLOTTE’s alter ego KEVIN finally intervenes.
The thirty-minute work follows the character Charlotte through conversations with men, women and family members. The sets imitate domestic objects in cardboard and plaster.
Its documentation takes the form of a behind-the-scenes film in which props stand in for the performers and the performance mocks the mythology of the male auteur. Full documentation can be seen on Vimeo.
